The assessment of student learning allows colleges to improve teaching and learning and student success. It allows a college to focus on improvements, as well as accountability. Assessment is a promise. A college’s mission statement and outcomes are a promise to students and employers. At Northwood Technical College, assessment is also about giving our students a quality education. We strive to ensure our students write and speak clearly, act professionally, think critically, and practice inclusive behaviors. Assessment ensures that we keep that promise.

The Employability Essentials at Northwood Technical College represent the educational values of the College. They are the knowledge, skills, and abilities students are expected to develop as a result of their overall experiences at Northwood Tech. The Employability Essentials are assessed on an ongoing basis with the results used to improve teaching and learning.
