Safe Zone trainings are opportunities to learn about LGBTQ+ identities, gender and sexuality, and examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege (source).
When we say “Safe Zone,” a big part of what we’re talking about is the learning environment, a space where participants can take risks, be vulnerable, and learn — all in the face of stigmatizing social pressures. The hope is that later, after being trained, you can then create a similar environment for others in your life. Safe Zone certification is for everyone, no exceptions.
