Select the meeting options.
a. Change the Who can bypass the lobby to Only organizers and co-organizers. This is important for who will receive the recording. The way Teams works, the first person that signs into the meeting will be the one to receive the recording in their OneDrive. If you keep everyone in the lobby, you will be the one to start the meeting and will receive the recording.
b. Turn on Record Automatically if you want automatic recordings. Go to page 9 to see how to map your Teams recordings to Panopto (if using OneDrive, after the recording is saved, you will need to go into the recordings folder in OneDrive and set the expiration date to never). Click Save after you make Meeting Options changes.
c. Close the Meeting Options tab
d. Then the Microsoft Teams Window
Next, you will manually add the meeting to the calendar using one of the following options. You can either Create an event using Course Schedule (page 4) or Create an event using the Calendar (page 5). If you use the Course Schedule option, it will show up in the schedule and on the calendar (this is the preferred method).
Under Details and Actions, click on Add course schedule. Click the Plus Sign on Add the times this course or organization meets.
Enter in the Nickname (this is how it will appear on the calendar – recommended to match the name of the meeting in step 5 above), Start Date, Time, and if it will be a repeat event. Then paste the link you created earlier into the location field and click Save. (If your class meets at different times on different days, repeat the previous step). The meeting link will now be shown in the Course Schedule to the left of their Course Content, and on the Course Calendar.
Create an event using the Calendar:
Click the Plus sign and select Add Event
Enter in the Nickname (this is how it will appear on the calendar – recommended to match the name of the meeting in step 5 above), Start Date, Time, and if it will be a repeat event. Then paste the link you created earlier into the location field and click Save. (If your class meets at different times on different days, repeat the previous step). and click Save. It will then appear on the calendar.
In the Teams desktop app, click on the View More Apps. If Panopto doesn’t come up in the list, click Get more apps and type Panopto in the search. Then click Install next to Panopto.
Next, go into Settings and click Authenticate. It will prompt you to sign in with your Northwood Tech email address and password.
From here you can choose the Default Recordings Folder in Panopto or you can set up Meeting-Folder Mappings.
First, you will want to go into your Course and set up a folder in Panopto where you would like the recordings to go. You can insert this link into your course in a later step for your students to view all the recordings from the course.
Under the Details & Actions pane select View course & Institution tools under Books & Tools
Then click on Panopto Video
Now that you are in your course, click on Add folder, and enter the same name you used to create the meeting and press enter to add it to your folder list.
Create a New Mapping for your Blackboard Course Teams Meeting by going back to the Panopto App in the Microsoft Teams Desktop App. Go to Settings and select New Mapping
Enter the Meeting Title (same name you used when creating your meeting link), and drill down to find your Blackboard Ultra Courses folder, and expand to find the course and you want to map to. Then click Add. Your mapping is now set for all future recordings for that course (repeat for each course at the start of each semester)
To add a link to that folder in your Blackboard Course, in the Panopto app in Teams, click on the Home button, then click the Everything button. Locate the Everything folder and click on it to activate the drop-down menu. Drill down until you find the folder you created
Now that you are in the folder, click the Share button to copy the link to that folder.
Click Copy Link
Go back to your Blackboard Course, and under Course Content click Add and then Create. Then choose Link.
Change the Folder Visibility, the Display Name, and insert the link into the Link URL. Click Save.
You now have a link to that Panopto Folder in your course.
