Copy Content of Specific Items

You can copy individual items from the other courses you teach.

Supported content types include: entire modules, documents, tests, assignments, SCORM packages, links, and discussions or journals. Copied tests include all of the questions and answers set up in the way they are in the original item.

  1. First, go to the Course Content page of the course you want to copy into
  2. Two options to start copy content:
    • Open the ellipse menu at the top of the content list or
    • Click on "+" anywhere you want to insert copied content in the course
  3. Select Copy Content or Copy Items

Issues and Exceptions Copying Content

If the system encounters problems with a content copy, an error report appears at the top of the Course Content page. Select View Details to learn more about why the content failed to copy.

On the Copy Details panel, you can see if the problems are related to your server connectivity or the content itself. Select an entry to see why the item wasn't successfully copied.

Gradebooks are automatically generated when a course is created or copied: do not use this method to copy each assignment from one course to another, or the gradebook may not generate correctly.
