Blackboard will be unavailable January 2nd 2025, from 1:00am until 7:30am for scheduled maintenance by Anthology. During this time, you will be unable to log into Blackboard or access any Blackboard resources.
The editor appears wherever you can format text, such as assignments, tests, discussions, and journals. You can add bullet or numbered lists and bold and/or italicized text. Use the Text style menu to add headings.
You can also launch the math editor to embed mathematical formulas in your text. Learn more about the Math Editor.
You can add links to your text as you work in the editor. To add a link, select the Insert/Edit Link icon, represented by a chain symbol. Type or paste the Link URL and Link Text. You must use the http:// protocol. Select Insert to save the link.
You can also add a link to text you have already typed. Highlight the text and select the Insert/Edit Link icon. The Link Text is automatically added based on the text you have selected in the editor.
You can also access tools and links your administrator has made available across your institution.
You can add content from the Content Market directly to the editor in your course's assignments, tests, and documents.
Select a tool to launch and browse for content to add. Or, select the plus sign on the Institution Tool's card to add the entire tool in the editor. When you add a tool or a piece of content to the editor, it appears as a link. Learn more about Content Market.
You can upload files in the editor in certain areas of an Ultra course. For example, you can include an image or a document to help students understand your instructions or initial prompt.
The editor only supports inline viewing for videos in MP4 format.
Select the Attachment icon (shaped like a paperclip). Browse for a file from your computer. A status window appears to show the progress of the file upload. You can also add files from cloud storage by selecting the plus icon.
You can edit the files display name by clicking on the document, and then clicking on the pencil in the toolbar.
In some areas of an Ultra course, you can use the editor functions to add images and text content. You can add images that are hosted online, in cloud storage, or from your local drive.
There are three options for the image source when using the Image button:
You can change the display name of the file. Ensure that an adequate description is provided for "Alternative text", unless the image is purely decorative.
You can resize images in the editor by selecting the image in the editor and dragging the corner until it reaches the desired size.
Note: If you add a large image, it's a good idea to include the image as a separate text link. This way, your students can select the link to view the image separately and more clearly, while still reading your text.
Add images from your OneDrive in the Content Editor. Find and select the image to share in OneDrive. Press the "Copy Link" button, which will copy the link to your clipboard. To embed the content, select Insert Content, then select "Image from URL". Paste the copied link into the "Image URL" field. Select Insert.
You can use the Media option to insert media and enterprise Office365 files directly into the editor. The editor automatically embeds the content, so it appears with other content you include. Students can view the content, such as a video, within the same window—no need to navigate to the media's site.
You can embed content from these sites:

Use the YouTube Video option from the Insert Content menu to browse and add YouTube videos directly in the editor. No need to leave your course to find a link! You can choose to display the video as a link or embed it, which appears alongside the other content you include. Students can watch the video within the same window—no need to navigate to YouTube.
In Ultra Course View, when you enable an alternate domain for your site, you can now use custom HTML or CSS in a document. Select Add HTML as a new block to embed an inline third-party HTML editor in the document. You can write or paste HTML code into the editor and select Save.
A new CodeEditor package handles all the imports required by the third-party editor and standardizes the editor configurations. The package will otherwise simply wrap the editor's method for injecting itself into a DOM element. Directives and plugins that embed the editor on the page will depend on the package.
