Blackboard Ultra: Faculty Resource: Grant Assessment Exceptions

Blackboard Ultra: Faculty Resource

Add/Remove Assessment Exceptions

From an assessment's Submissions page, you can add exceptions for students individually. You can also add exceptions from a student or group's individual submission page. You can't add an exception for an anonymously graded assessment.

Accommodation vs. Exception:

  • An Accommodation is course-wide and applies to due dates and time limits for all assessments in your course for a specific student.
  • An Exception applies to a specific assessment for a specific student, where you can change the visibility dates and number of attempts for that student.

To add an exception:

  1. Go to Gradebook, and in the Gradable Items under the List View, select the assessment in which a student needs an exception.

  1. Locate the student and select the three dots at the end of their row. Next, select “Add or edit exceptions.”
