Blackboard Ultra: Faculty Resource

Respondus LockDown Browser

Secure Assessments

Respondus is a special browser that "locks down" a computer while accessing Blackboard.  It prevents students from accessing other programs or websites while taking an exam.

To require students to use Respondus for an exam:

  • Create your exam (see the  Assessments>Tests section).

You can find the Respondus Dashboard in one of two options:

  • Option 1: In the Settings area of the assessment>Assessment Security>click on the "Lockdown Browser Dashboard" link
  • Option 2: In the Books and Tools menu>Assessment Security>click on the Lockdown Browser Dashboard link.
