Patient Safety: Please read about patient safety and complete the assessment below. 

Learners are provided “deliberate practice” time to help build their confidence and routine safety measures such as preventing falls, HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and accurate patient identification

• The beds are hospital beds that can raise or lower, and have different positions that the learners can consider for patient safety
• ID bands are applied for all the patients
• Use of scanners for patient med pass
• “Blunt” needles for drawing up medications for protection against needle sticks
• “Safety needles” that can cover the needle after being used
• “Sharp safes” for disposal of needles
• Utilization of pencils only and special solvents for lubrication and preps that won’t damage the mannequins
