Join a Meeting in Teams

Join by link:

When you open the Meeting Link or select Click here to join the meeting in your meeting invite, you'll be taken to a page where you can choose to either Continue on this browser, Join on the Teams app, or Download it now. If you already have the Teams app installed, the meeting will open there automatically.

Join a Teams Meeting from a Link

In the meeting window that opens you can set your camera, mic, background, etc. Then click Join Now when you are ready to enter the meeting.

If you don't have the Teams account and the organizer has allowed it, you may have the option to enter your name to join the meeting as a guest.  If you do have a Teams account, select Sign in to join with access to the meeting chat and more. Then, depending on the organizer's settings, you may join the meeting right away or go to the lobby where people in the meeting can admit you.

Join by phone:

If you're unable to use the Teams app or Teams on the web, you can join some meetings by calling a phone number.

If there's a phone number and conference ID in the meeting invite, just dial the number to join.

Join from your Outlook or Microsoft Teams App Calendar:

Select Calendar on the left of Outlook or the Teams App

If the meeting has not started, click on the Event and then click Join

Join from chat:

If the meeting has already begun, it appears in your recent chat list.  Select the meeting in your recent chat list and then select Join at the top of the chat.

Add a room while you join:

When you’re choosing your audio and video settings, you have the option to connect to a meeting room and use its audio and video devices.

Join your meeting. Select Room Audio, wait for a room to be detected or Search for a room. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.

Join meeting from the Microsoft Teams mobile app:

Once you've join a meeting on the mobile app, you can:

  • Tap the meeting to see the meeting header and access to
    • Where you can return to the team channel or chat
    • Start chat with participants
    • Add people from your team to the meeting
  • Tap in the meeting for the meeting controls
    • audio
    • video
    • hang up
  • Pinch to zoom in and out when someone is sharing their desktop

Also, if you're the meeting organizer, you can:

  • Mute all or individual participants
  • Remind people who accepted the meeting, but haven't joined, to call into the meeting
  • Cancel or reschedule a meeting
