Panopto Added to the Course

The Panopto library is an easy way to store and share videos in Blackboard with the Panopto add-in feature.  Create folders to organize your videos, control access through access settings, and upload videos from other sources.  

 

How to Submit Video to Assignment when the instructor has added the Panopto Tool to the Blackboard course. 

1.  Sign in to Blackboard through MyCampus and find the video assignment.

2.  Open the assignment in Blackboard and click on the submission text box.  Then, in the text editor and select the plus symbol icon and select the option Content Market from the dropdown menu.

3.  In the Content Market window that appears, select the Panopto option that includes the term Panopto Video (Student Submission Tool).

4.  When selected, your Panopto site will open in a new window with three options to choose a video, upload a video, or launch Capture or your Panopto application to record a video:

Option 1 -Choose: Select an existing recording, browse through your available folders, select your video, and click Insert.

Option 2 -Upload: Select the Upload tab to upload an existing file.  Drag and drop or click to browse your computer for files on this page.  
Select Insert when you are done uploading.

Option 3 - Record: On the Record tab, select either Launch Capture to record with Panopto Capture or Launch App to record with Panopto for Windows or Panopto for Mac.  Once you are done, select Insert to submit your video.  See handouts for creating videos.

5.  A pop-up window will appear, prompting you to confirm the name displayed in the assignment submission.  Select Insert.

6.  Your video will appear embedded in the text editor of the submission window.  Add text as needed, and then select Submit.

7.  Select Submit.  Note: Once your assignment is submitted, you will be unable to edit your video submission.  A pop-up window will appear that the submission was successful.  Click Close

Panopto Not Added to Course

The Panopto library is an easy way to store and share videos through a hyperlink.  Create folders to organize your videos, control access through access settings, and upload videos from other sources.  


Sharing a Video Link when the Instructor has not added the Panopto Tool to Blackboard course 


1.  Log into MyCampus at northwoodtech.edu and click on the Panopto icon.

2.  Click on My Folder to find your media files.

3.  Hover over the video you want to share; click the Share icon.

4.  Set access permission to your video by clicking on the Change link and selecting access for who can view it.  In most cases, you will choose "Your Organization(unlisted)" if you share the hyperlink within the college.

5.  Copy the link to share your video.

6.  Go to Blackboard Assignment and 

  • Click inside the submission box
  • choose the Link icon, and it opens a new window
  • Paste URL link
  • Select Insert
  • Select Submit
