Blackboard will be unavailable January 2nd 2025, from 1:00am until 7:30am for scheduled maintenance by Anthology. During this time, you will be unable to log into Blackboard or access any Blackboard resources.
When you access Courses from the navigation panel, you see all the courses you are enrolled in as a student.
To view Organizations in which you are a participant, tap the main menu icon and select Organizations. Organizations behave like courses and contain tools that enable members to communicate. For every organization you participate in, you can access content, view announcements, and participate in discussions. The Courses and Organizations lists function the same.
Tap a course's star to favorite it and move it to the top of the course list. You can favorite courses in the app, or a web browser and they will show as favorites across both locations.
Courses set to Private by your instructor will show up in the list, but you cannot access them until your instructor opens the courses.
If you have completed or upcoming courses and organizations, tap Current to change your view. Courses and organizations show in the current, completed, or upcoming lists based on the duration or status set by your instructor or administrator.
Within the app, you can view the folders, documents, assessments, and the other items that you can see in the web browser view of the course.
Blackboard app software collaborates with the Northwood Tech server. Content created by instructors or other users may not be compatible with the app. If there is an item you can access on the course website, but not in the app, contact your instructor or MyHelp.
Export or print files
When you open a course file in the app, you can view, export, or print it. When you export, you can select one of the installed applications on your mobile device. For example, you can email the file or save it to your cloud storage.
Blackboard Ally allows you to generate alternative formats for course content to make it more accessible. If you currently see Ally in the web browser view of your Ultra, you can use it in the app as well.
When you access a file your instructor uploaded to your course, you can put Ally to work. Ally's alternative formats include HTML, ePub, electronic braille, audio, BeeLine Reader, or a translated version.
For example, do you learn better when you listen to audio or read text? If you would rather listen, Ally can generate a downloadable MP3 from a document your instructor provided.
A learning module has organized collections of content. Your instructor may require you to complete the content in a sequence or allow you to explore the content in any order.
The Ultra Blackboard app learning modules clearly show your progress.
