Respondus LockDown Browser

About Respondus

Your program may require your exams to be in Respondus Lockdown Browser.  Respondus Lockdown Browser prevents access to other materials, including internet browsers or other software, while you have an assessment open.  Within the Respondus LockDown browser window, the assessment appears like any other assessment.

Respondus Monitor uses your webcam and may also be required by your instructor.  You may need to show your ID to verify yourself.

You can not perform these actions while using the Respondus LockDown Browser:

  • Open other programs
  • Visit another website
  • Copy, paste, and print
  • Add files, links, or videos
  • Use Certain keyboard shortcuts
  • Use your phone to submit attempts

Download LockDown Browser

Two Options to Download Lockdown Browser:

Option 1. Use the link in your assessment to download Lockdown Browser

Options 2. Use this link to download the Respondus Lockdown Browser to your computer.  Download LockDown Browser

If you have not downloaded the software and tried to open the assessment, a message appears with links to where to download it.
