Accessing Assignments

Via the Activity Stream

  • View the Stream by selecting the Activity menu option from the Institution Page.
  • Click on the assignment name to open it.

Via the Calendar

  • View the Calendar by selecting
    • the Calendar menu option from the Institution Page
    • the Calendar page from a course's navigation bar
  • Click on the Due Dates button to view a list of assignments by due date.
  • Click on the assignment name to open it.

Via the Course Content Page

  • Enter the desired course through the Course option on the Institution Page.
  • Select the Content page.
  • Assignments can be listed directly on the Content page, within a folder or most likely in a learning module.
  • If necessary, expand the folder or module.
  • Find the desired assignment and click on the name to open it.

Via the Course Gradebook

  • Enter the desired course through the Course option on the Institution Page.
  • Select the Gradebook page.
  • The status column indicates whether an item is UnopenedSubmittedGraded, or Past due.
  • Find the desired assignment and click on the name to open it.

Assignment Details & Information

  • Previous and Next buttons found beneath the title are used to navigate between assignments.
  • The due date and time are indicated next to the calendar icon.
  • If a rubric will be used, it can be viewed by clicking on "This item is graded with a rubric".
  • Pay special attention to the number of attempts and time limit that have been imposed upon the completion of the assignment.
  • When you are ready to start an assignment, click on the View instructions button.

A Details & Information popup displays when an assignment is clicked on. The popup has a View instructions button that can be used to view the assignment instructions.

Assignment Instructions

  • Read the Assignment Instructions carefully before starting.
  • The Details & Information section will indicate whether a Grading rubric will be used.
  • If there is a rubric, click on the link and review the rubric to view the point allocation for different sections and criteria.
  • Complete the assignment instructions in the Submission section.
  • The Save and Close button will save the progress you have made, but it will not submit the assignment.
  • Click the Submit button to submit your work and complete one of the attempts allowed.

An open assignment panel has the following sections: Assignment Instructions, Details & Information, Submission as well as Save and Close, and Submit buttons. A example of a rubric is displayed as a popup with categories, criteria and point distribution.
